🔹Scope – ICC Legal Module
The Legal Module focuses on the laws and procedures that guide code adoption, enforcement, and administrative accountability. It evaluates a candidate’s understanding of due process, liability, warrants, prosecution, and public records within building and fire code programs. As one of three required exams for the Certified Building Official (CBO) or Certified Fire Marshal (CFM) designations, it ensures that candidates can apply legal principles to code administration with fairness, consistency, and professionalism.
